When Nick Donald first mooted the idea of EHFS, he already had a clear idea of how to divide this remarkable stretch of river into it's three beats. The bridge and tunnel being the logical choices as boundaries. Amazingly, there is a balance of pools, swims and cover on all three beats. In addition to pools, the flow and boulders ensure all beats are well-oxygenated with an equal distribution of fauna along the river bed. Access to all three beats is easy, and parking is more than adequate.
